Natural Dye, Wool and Weaving

Wool

We have had sheep on the farm for a long time so processing wool felt like a natural progression. We hand wash, card, spin and dye the wool here. We use natural plants to dye, most of which are grown here. Walnut hulls, marigolds, pomegranates, Indigo leaves and Hopi Sunflower seeds to name a few. We also save Avocado skins and Pits and purchase Indigo and Madder root.

The wool is made into skeins and sold at markets or used here on our loom to create all sorts of one of a kind treasures.

Shirts

Since we are an apparel business we thought, well, why not dye some cotton shirts too! We have been having fun getting creative with dyeing and printing shirts also with the natural plant materials.
